Among the vast collection of museums here, we can find the roots and leaves of Amsterdam’s history and its ever-developing culture. Rijks Museum is the largest and it possess a vast collection of religious art-pieces, works dated back to the Golden Age and Dutch art. Stedelijk Museum is the home to the modern art collections and there is a sculpture garden just behind the walls. The Coffee and Tea Museum was setup by Coffee-Tea lovers so its open only on Saturday afternoons. Van Gogh Museum is dedicated to the fine works of Van Gogh. Jewish Historical Museum is a tribute to the Jewish beliefs, their culture and history in Netherlands, which constitutes four synagogues. Vodka Museum gives us the history of Russian Vodka and possesses a fine collection of all varieties of Vodka. Amsterdam Tulip Museum is an honour to the national flower of Netherland – The Tulip. Anne Frank House was the hiding place of Anne Frank during World War – II, from where she wrote her famous diary. Multatuli Museum is built in remembrance to the writer Multatuli and his works at his own residence. Canals, Beaches & Windmills |
Amsterdam is rich in canals and beaches. Its nickname “Venice of the North” will be an understatement. A stride along the bayside or a canal boat trip will surely make your day.
